A Hobbs family wants answers after the man who police say murdered their son was allowed to leave jail. The murder victim's father, Serapio Martinez, is outraged that his sons suspected killer, Phillip "Ed" Harrison, is out on bail. Harrison is a previously convicted felon and was captured after a nationwide manhunt earlier this year. On Tuesday, The district attorney's office, along with Harrison's defense attorney, agreed to let a judge reduce Harrison's bond from $70,000 to $40,000. Harrison posted bail shortly after. In return for the reduced bond, Harrison waived his preliminary hearing in magistrate court. "I don't like it. First of all I think he is a flight risk. That's why he left town," said Serapio Martinez Police say Harrison murdered Orlando Martinez, 31, in September 2009. Harrison was not immediately charged with the murder until November 2009. During those two months, Harrison moved to Kentucky and started up another tattoo shop. "They were looking for him and couldn't find him so they took all this time and finally 'America's Most Wanted' put him on tv," said Martinez. After the nationwide manhunt, Harrison was captured in Kentucky then brought back to New Mexico. The district attorney's office says it agreed to let a magistrate court judge reduce the bond because Harrison waived his preliminary hearing. The case will now head to district court. Harrison could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted
